I study human behavior with a specific focus on its intricate relationship with actions, ranging from subtle cues of attention or engagement to locomotion and navigation patterns. Analyzing upper body poses, facial landmarks, eye gaze or trajectories, I delve into how individuals respond during interactions, whether with others or with technology.
In April 2021, I founded the "Human Behavior Understanding Lab" at Okayama University, which aims to connect actions with cognitive and social states. My recent research focuses on various aspects of human behavior, including collision avoidance accounting for also the social aspects, estimating engagement level of e-learners, and leveraging memory registration using a dual-channel paradigm of perception.
